Misrepresentation of young people in the media inspired a group from Camden to set up their own media project and learn about peer research, film making and setting up a magazine.
The young people applied for the YOF and were successful in securing £ 5 407.With the money they bought all the media equipment necessary to produce the films and the magazine.
The group has completed 3 videos and 2 magazine issues. Through the magazine and videos, the group tried to dispel the myths surrounding young Muslims, Young people and crime and young people in the media. The videos were showcased at a community event and the magazine has been distributed through schools and youth projects in Camden borough.
