GOL's Children and Learners Division in partnership with the London Safeguarding Children Board, London Councils and, through the, 33 London boroughs have developed a new offer of safeguarding support for London.
Other agencies including the Met and Strategic Health Authority are linked closely with this work and also play a key role. The offer is the result of careful joint planning from the agencies involved and close consultation with borough experts.
Within the offer of support are 18 key objectives, including improving data to enable us to give targeted support where it is needed, building the capacity of Serious Case Review chairs and authors and redrafting the London Child Protection Procedures. The guide clearly shows which London agency is responsible for carrying out each piece of work and can be held to account in terms of progress, but also makes clear that the overall offer is a partnership one that is jointly owned.
