Young London Matters has supported 3 scoping studies that aim to identify ways of increasing schools' capacity to support emotional wellbeing, in particular strengthening parental engagement and links with CAMHS and other specialist services.
The work has been underway since mid 2007 and has taken place in Greenwich, Hackney and Haringey. A Project Group (comprising members from CSIP and GOL) met on a monthly basis through to completion of the scoping studies. Hackney has successfully become part of the national DCSF Targeted Mental Health in Schools project and the Project Group are considering how best Greenwich and Haringey can be supported for success in the second wave of the programme (April 2009).
