The Department of Health's You're Welcome Guidance aims to ensure that all health services are young people friendly in order to improve health outcomes for young people.
Government Offices in four regions tested quality criteria for You're Welcome during the pilot phase in 2007/08. You're Welcome is being rolled out nationally as of 2008/09.
London's pilot areas led the way with models of young people's participation. Over 70 young people have been involved in quality assurance and verification of services self assessing against ‘You’re Welcome’ criteria during the pilot. See more on the Children and Young People section of this site or contact Alex Hall
The national and London briefing paper can be downloaded HERE and explains the pilot in more detail.

Networks
- A 'You're Welcome' Co-ordinators Network is held quarterly at GOL, as is a 'You're Welcome' Young People's participation network. See a table of the Local Leads
- The next meeting for Local Area Participation Leads will take place on the 11th June 2009, between 1-4pm in Room 10.3 on the 10th Floor of the Government Office for London, 157-161 Millbank, London SW1P 4RR. This meeting will provide an important opportunity for liaison, feedback and planning for the roll-out of the young assessors programme. The regional lead will assist you in planning for and delivering You’re Welcome.
