IYSS (Integrated Youth Support Services).Building a Locally Owned Case for Change
The objectives of the first event in June were for delegates to:
- (1)To familiarise themselves with tools and techniques to:
- Help strengthen their 'locally owned case for change';
- Identify the strategic partners that need to be included in effective IYSS/TYS implementation and achieve their ongoing engagement and support for the change; and
- Better understand the impact of services on the needs of vulnerable young people and how to use these to support the case for change.
- (2) Network with colleagues to identify & share good practice on which to build, including:
- How to gain a fuller understanding of the area’s vulnerable young people and their needs;
- Involving vulnerable young people, their families, carers and communities in the case for change;
- The pathfinder experiences; and
- Developing a comprehensive delivery plan and linking this to children’s trusts, the CYPP and neighbourhood plans.
The objectives of for the second event in October were:
- To experience some tools and techniques to use back in Local Areas to support the engagement of practitioners, managers, young people, families and wider communities in delivering an integrated service for young people that responds to need and is fit for purpose
- Network with colleagues to identify & share good practice on which to build including pathfinder experience.
