Young London Matters and Young People's Involvement
Each of the Young London Matters strands has a role to champion and listen to children and young people when developing and delivering their work programmes and across all strands aims to improve outcomes through:
1. The Government Office for London and Greater London Authority (GLA) Young Inspectors Programme, which aims to utilise the skills of a range of young people from across London and involve them in reviewing and ensuring young people’s contribution to individual boroughs Children and Young People’s plans.
Building on work done by the Office of the Children’s commissioner, their feeback will be incorporated into the development of the next round of Children and Young People’s Plans. The Young Inspectors' have reported back on the pilot with 6 London boroughs. Click here for more information.
2. A Young Assessors project is being developed, again as a partnerhsip between the Government Office for London and the Greater London Authority. London’s young people are leading on developing a local and regional model for Young People’s Participation in the You’re Welcome Quality Standard which aims to increase youth friendliness of health services in particular:
See the Issue of Capital Child on the GLA website for an update on the work of the Young Assessors
